Tobrade Imperial News Network (TINN)
Tobrade Imperial News Network - The Facts That Matter
Located in Tobra City, The Tobrade Imperial News Network building sits within a plaza built atop the ruins of Prosperity Parks. The station provides updates to the citizens of Tobrade about the general goings on of the planet, primarily success stories regarding Imperial military or bureaucratic processes, the promotion of new business and leisure attractions or smear campaigns aimed at the governing bodies and democratic parties who previously ruled Tobrade. Currently, TINN only broadcasts news updates between 7am-11am, then 5pm-9pm. At all other times the station plays patriotic Imperial orchestral music over inspirational imagery of Imperial military exercises and recruitment advertisements. One of the first major stories which went live to the people of Tobrade was a visit to TINN by Lord Rhôzan, the current Planetary Governor, with the only statement pulled from his visit being, "The people of Tobrade deserve the facts."
Cast:
The main newscasters for TINN are Braithe Riti and Varana Drox, former slaves purchased from Zenith Enterprises who were awarded their freedom upon signing on to work for TINN in perpetuity. Additionally, the station's holo producer and camera specialist, Garten Klar was freed under the same contractual agreement. Finally, the station's beleaguered weather person, only ever referred to as River is a Rattataki slave who is often seen reporting from the most windswept and atmospherically vibrant locales. As time passes, viewers cannot be certain if River is a male or female Ratattaki and due to the high risks involved in reporting from the fringe territories of Tobrade's acid rain stricken wastelands, some aren't certain that it's even the same person.

Prosperity Parks
After declaring victory in the most recent election, Lesum Utteridge decided to gift the three larger cities (Tobra, Pikin and Krathorne) with beautiful flora imported from Damolla. The parks were built in the centrre of each city, requiring many homes and places of work to be demolished to make space for them. Some citizens gave up their homes happily out of patriotism and understanding of the prosperity parks importance for the planet as a whole, whilst others seethed in resentment at the loss of homes they had lived in for generations.
The imported flora does not thrive without assistance however, requiring substantial investment to maintain the perfect climate from the exotic Damollan plants. When opposing voices mention this, they are met with the suggestion that closing the parks would be denying the children and workers the joy of nature. Do they really want to make babies cry?
The parks are of course guarded by security who remove any unseemly or unwanted visitors - including crying babies.
