The Tempered Adherents

Drosuun.png

Adherents: ~2,100
Profile: A growing group of believers adhering to ideals of passion, servitude, and perfection

Description:
A small, growing number of adherents loyal to Lord Leyrah Sendahl, situated on Yankun and currently housed in various parts of the world. Many travel religiously to Ri Sirsia Yankun as a place of adherence and to further their understanding, be it through the physical as warriors, the mental as scholars, or simply by devotion alone.

Largely, the Adherents devote themselves to the Sith as the ideal creature, seeking blessing and perfection as far as their rulers permit. As such, they seek to become forged through passions and fire, not too unlike the Sith themselves, and by so doing creating a worthwhile legacy.

The strict specific beliefs are still budding and growing into full concepts, and some may stand in opposition with the Path of Drosuun, particularly in matters of recruitment to their respective orders. Not all ideals are opposed though, as the Tempered Adherents also believe that truth is something worth seeking out - and if needed, altered. Only through pain, conflict, struggle - and shâsot - can a being be perfected.

The High Priestess

Gerah Zahm is the current Head Priestess of the Tempered Adherents. She is an aged, experienced, and born leader of one of the original nomadic and fanatical groups to arrive to Yankun under Lord Sendahl's guidance. Since then, she has slowly worked to bring them all under the same idea: Devotion to Tave Stukali, the Storm's Will and the teachings that come with their new leadership. She is followed closely by her handmaiden, Kinoa.

Teachings & Culture

The teachings of the Tempered Adherents are many and wide-spread among the devoted, but a few are key: the Tablets hold teachings and stories containing truth. One saying regarding these tablets and wisdom holds above all:

From cradle to tomb, knowledge persists. For stories once told around toys always have a way of coming true.

The Tablets

The largest tablets stand in Ri Sirsia with the Devoted, written in High Sith in paint that almost seemed aglow with energy. They contain two stories as of today, dictated as below:

The First Tablet

The old and experienced knew much, and thought themselves filled with knowledge and wisdom.
Looking to Power known yet uncontrolled, they wished and wanted for more. They knew much; so much was their desire that they reached further still, and burnt themselves with what they did not know, but yearned for always.
Another came who knew more than they, and showed them the way. 'Come to my lands, and though your yearning is eternal, I will guide your way,' she said, and painted the words with something that had not yet been considered: Will.
For she Willed it to be the truth, and so it became what she decreed. It was through her Will that those who knew and those who yearned found a way to sanctuary, so that they too could learn beyond their wisdom and experience.

The Second Tablet

When those who were Devoted made their way and found their path to Sanctuary, they received and earned yet more knowledge, for it was this Knowledge that gave them Power;
That which had been, that which is, and that which will be, are all of one kindred spirit: Devotion. Hearts and minds were all part of the previous lesson; Will to become Devotion, for it was that which would give them new breath.
'Kneel before they who are stronger,' said she who had guided them Home. 'Bow before those who hold the power of Will, and Devotion will see you to Strength also.'
So the Promised One completed her Covenant with the Adherents, and they bowed, and their legacies bowed, to know Passion through Devotion.

The Culture

The core group of the Adherents speak primarily through hand-gestures, but are capable in Basic and even simple Sith, though much of it heavily modified as the original group of nomads were in such a separate environment that it evolved differently.

They offer greetings and farewells with their hand on their heart, and by opening their hand up towards the person(s) they are acknowledging.

Many of the older devotees are tattooed by various means, which is supposed to aid them in remembering each and every hardship they have endured throughout their lifetime; conflict that created growth in a true Sith fashion, despite them not being Sensitive. It is evident they hold true to many of the core Sith ideals, as even the tattoos themselves are made using ink and beast bone to make the moment of permanence memorable.
