I have felt, since we have returned from our campaign on Ekirus that my views on being both a Sith, and a proud Warrior have been shallow. As such. This is a rambling on a renewed sense of what it means to be a Sith. A good, strong member of this Powerbase, who seeks to advance and propel himself forward.
1 - Strength is earned, it is not inherited, it is not simply granted. But instead true power is clawed after, it is fought for. Either physically, or if given your specific provocation for the Dark Arts, through more esoteric means.
2 - Rank does not grant supremacy.
Likely a slightly controversial take. But while rank does grant authority, it does not earn obedience. Not like Capability. You would not follow a Darth blindly into an alley simply because he has told you to. A warrior follows not only because of fear, if he does. He serves your title. But if he serves because he trusts your strength. Your real power. There can be no greater authority.
3 - You must endure first
If you are willing to allow someone else to suffer where you are not. You do not deserve the power you claim to have earned.
Walk first, Bleed First, Stand First, Only then have you earned the right to command.
4 - Your enemy is never your greatest trial
A blade can kill you, the force can easily destroy you, pain can cripple you. But none of these factors should decide who you are. A true warrior is not measured not by what happens when they are struck, but instead what happens afterwards, if they can pull themselves up afterwards and keep fighting. Using your pain, your failures as a reason to keep fighting. Keep standing and prove that you are Sith, in name. And in blood.
5 - Discipline trumps Fury
Putting your emotions on the forefront of your mind is a powerful tool. But it is only ever a weapon. But discipline, true discipline is a mastery. A warrior who cannot command his own emotions, cannot hope to command another person.
6 - Inspire Strength unto others
A weak Sith can gather followers easily enough. Gangs, Militias, etc. But a truly powerful being. A real warrior is able to take those with potential and create rivals and Sith themselves. But the strongest Sith, such as the Dark Lord, and those Lords within this powerbase create leaders. Those who can create in turn.
If those beneath you are forever weak. You have accomplished nothing.
7 - Victory is never personal
A war is not won with a single blade, instead, thousands of lives at once, fighting for the same cause. We must remember the Soldiers who hold the lines, the Pilots who bring soldiers home, the Engineers keeping our systems online, The Medic who refused to allow someone to slip into the darkness.
A warrior does not stand above their Empire. Instead at its point.
8 - My final point.
When I fall. When someone is able to put me down for the final time. Do not remember me for the planets I have assisted in coralling, judge me by the warriors who will stand far past me because I taught them how.
Only then will I have honoured my time as a Sith.
