Ruben Strikes Back

88ea77b2e026829e86845ba8b8ea6617.jpg

Tensions between the forces of the Valtorin Domuum and the Dekidis family exploded into violent conflict on Yankun once again, with a recent skirmish marking one of the bloodiest encounters to date. This latest clash, initiated by Ruben Dekidis, has rattled the Valtorin camp and left Dekidis forces claiming a significant, though costly, victory.

For days leading up to the confrontation, Valtorin starfighters buzzed low over Camp Rhozan, the main outpost of the Dekidis forces, in what seemed to be an effort to provoke and intimidate the soldiers stationed there. The repeated harassment left the Dekidis camp frustrated and on edge, with many of the rank and file calling for action.

Ruben Dekidis Bold Move

The breaking point came when Ruben Dekidis, apparently angered by rumours questioning his abilities as a commander, decided to strike back decisively. Leading a force of 60 Dekidis soldiers, supported by 25 combat droids, Ruben spearheaded a daring raid aimed at crippling the Valtorin starfighter fleet.

In the early hours of the raid, the Dekidis force managed to slip past Valtorin lines, undetected by their rivals. They reached the Valtorin camp, where three starfighters sat grounded—ripe targets for a lightning assault. With two additional Valtorin starfighters still airborne, the Dekidis had to act quickly before their presence was detected.

Ruben wasted no time, ordering his troops to open fire on the Valtorin camp while directing his combat droids to flank the area and engage the starfighters directly. The initial fighting proved devastating for the Valtorin side, which was caught off guard by the sudden assault. Valtorin forces suffered eight dead and twelve seriously injured as Dekidis tactics, combined with the element of surprise, left their enemies scrambling to mount any meaningful defence.

Starfighters Targeted

While the Dekidis soldiers pressed their advantage, the combat droids executed their mission to destroy the grounded starfighters. In the chaos, one starfighter was obliterated, while two others sustained heavy damage, rendering them inoperable for the time being. Although the Dekidis droids succeeded in their mission, most of them were destroyed in the ensuing battle when Valtorin droids arrived to counter the attack.

Despite these losses, Ruben’s forces managed to pull off a successful retreat. Using the dense forest surrounding the Valtorin camp for cover, the Dekidis soldiers withdrew swiftly, evading pursuit from the two remaining Valtorin starfighters. Though the starfighters made several strafing runs, the forest provided excellent concealment, preventing any significant losses as the Dekidis forces slipped away.

Valtorin Counterattack

The Valtorin starfighters, unable to inflict damage on the retreating forces, turned their focus on Camp Rhozan in retaliation. In a series of punishing airstrikes, much of the camp was reduced to smouldering ruins. Fortunately for the Dekidis forces, most of the soldiers had evacuated the camp earlier, leaving behind only supplies, which were destroyed in the assault. While the damage to infrastructure was extensive, no lives were lost in the counterattack.

A Tactical Victory for Dekidis

The raid, despite the loss of droids and damage to Camp Rhozan, is being hailed as a tactical victory for Ruben Valtorin and his forces. The destruction of one starfighter and the disabling of two others represents a serious blow to the Valtorin air fleet, which had been a critical advantage in maintaining pressure on the Dekidis forces. Ruben Valtorin, whose leadership had been called into question in recent weeks, is now being celebrated as a hero by Dekidis supporters for his bold strategy and execution.

For the Valtorins, the aftermath is grim. With significant casualties and the loss of three starfighters, morale has taken a sharp blow. Though they still possess two operational starfighters, their aerial superiority has been severely diminished. Even more concerning is the loss of confidence within the ranks, as Ruben Valtorin’s raid showcased a vulnerability that few expected, causing several Valtorin soldiers to desert.

With both sides licking their wounds, the potential for further escalation looms, and the struggle for control of the Valtorin-Dekidis contested territory shows no signs of resolution.

Dekidis in the Ascendancy

Tensions remain high between the Dekidis and Valtorin forces on Yankun after their recent skirmishes. Though the situation remains largely static, each side is reinforcing and recovering from the previous engagements.

Dekidis Forces

The Dekidis have primarily focused on consolidating their position around Camp Rhozan, which has been mostly restored after the damaging raid by Valtorin starfighters. However, they have lost a lot of equipment in the raid and are running particularly low on medical supplier.

To bolster their strength, they have received fresh reinforcements in the form of 50 combat droids, which has further strengthened their hand in the conflict. While no major attacks have been launched recently, the Dekidis continue to assert control through deep patrols of the disputed territory, making them the dominant military force in the area for now.

Valtorin Forces

The Valtorins, meanwhile, are struggling to recover from the heavy losses they sustained. They are working to repair their damaged starfighters in an effort to reinforce their defenses, but morale is notably low among the troops. With a starfighter destroyed, 12 soldiers dead, 14 wounded, and 6 having fled, the Valtorin forces are significantly weakened and appear hesitant to reengage the Dekidis at this time. This lack of enthusiasm suggests that their current focus is on regrouping rather than preparing for an immediate counteroffensive.

The Strategic Situation

Militarily, the Dekidis forces are in a stronger position, having regained their footing and boosted their ranks with droid reinforcements. Their patrols continue to solidify control over the disputed territories, and with a higher number of active personnel, they seem more capable of maintaining their current advantage. In contrast, the Valtorin forces remain on the back foot, and until they manage to restore their combat capability or bolster their morale, they are unlikely to challenge Dekidis supremacy in the near future.

For now, it seems the Dekidis hold the upper hand, though any shift in reinforcements or leadership from the Valtorin side could quickly change the balance of power.

Beyond the Battlefield
Tobrade low on medicine?

In a bold and calculated move, the Valtorin Domuum has reportedly bought up significant supplies of much-needed medicine that was initially destined for Tobrade. The heavily polluted planet, governed by Lord Rhozan, has long struggled with health crises exacerbated by poor water sanitation, polluted air, and rampant industrial waste. Tobrade’s population, much involved in dirty heavy manufacturing, is now left in even greater distress as vital medical relief vanishes.

The decision to redirect these supplies appears to be part of a political maneuver by Jellus Valtorin aimed at punishing Lord Rhozan. Instead of assisting Tobrade’s ailing population, the medicine is being shipped to the people of Slavish on Yankun, likely an attempt by the domuum to curry favor with the local people who represent the only significant population on the planet.

Where is Imerne Dekidis?

znn-png.2015

The disappearance of Imerne Dekidis, the beautiful daughter of Norak Dekidis, has sparked growing concern amongst Dekidis supporters. Imerne, a loyal officer in the Imperial military, was reported missing two days ago when her unit declared her AWOL, an uncharacteristic move for the well-regarded soldier.

Few believe that Imerne, known for her steadfast loyalty to the Empire and her family, would have willingly abandoned her unit. Speculation is mounting that she may have been kidnapped by those seeking to destabilize the powerful Dekidis domuum. However, as of now, no concrete evidence has surfaced to support these claims, leaving her disappearance shrouded in mystery.

Norak Dekidis released a public statement earlier today, expressing both his deep concern for his daughter’s safety and his firm belief that justice will be served. “Imerne is a dedicated servant of the Empire, she would never leave her post willingly. I assure those responsible, wherever they may hide, they will be found, and they will be brought to justice.”

Holonet Article
Not so special after all?
An anonymous article was published on the Dominion holonet in the early hours of this afternoon, and although efforts were made to purge it, the article was quickly reposted widely across the holonet. The text below is reproduced in its original format. The author is unknown.

Idun Astra: Not So Special After All?

Ah, Special Operative Idun Astra—Imperial loyalist, defender of order, and yet seemingly stuck in neutral when it comes to her career. In her latest article, she passionately rails against the "greedy" Valtorins, championing the Dekidis cause as if she were some great unifier of the Empire. But for all her lofty words, one can’t help but wonder: if Astra is such a shining example of Imperial values, why has she stalled at the rank of Special Operative? Could it have something to do with that hiccup in her otherwise stellar (read: disastrous) record—a court-martial for disobedience?

Interestingly, Astra’s current rank was handed to her by none other than Director Diancenzo Artherio, the notorious playboy in charge of Special Operations. This is the same Artherio who brought one of his two Lethan Twi’lek slaves to a charity event at an orphanage on Tobrade—because nothing says "charity" like flaunting your slaves in front of orphans. And yet, we’re supposed to believe that Artherio’s sudden interest in Astra was purely professional?

The rumors swirling about a special connection between the two have been whispered for a while now. Are we really to believe that Astra’s promotion had nothing to do with Artherio’s penchant for mixing business with pleasure? Her career may have hit a wall, but it seems her ability to align herself with certain influential figures hasn’t been entirely unsuccessful.

But let’s not forget: for all her grandstanding, Astra remains at the rank of Special Operative—and it looks like that’s as high as she’ll go. She can point fingers at the Valtorins all she wants, but her own ambitions seem to have been capped, and for good reason. It’s clear the Empire doesn’t quite know what to do with a court-martialed operative who just doesn’t fit neatly into the Imperial order.

So, while Astra pens her righteous tirades and lectures about Imperial values, the real question remains: if she’s such a model Imperial, why has her career barely moved? Maybe it’s time Astra spent less energy pointing fingers and more time reflecting on why the Imperial ladder remains so out of reach for her.

- A humble servant of the Empire

A statement from Dominus Valtorin

znn-png.2015

Esteemed Lord Rhozan, Glorious Lord Governor of Tobrade, and to the Honorable People of Tobrade,

It is with great humility that I, Jellus Valtorin, write to you today, knowing the immense responsibility carried by your Lord Governor, Lord Rhozan, in leading the proud citizens of Tobrade in service to the Empire. It has come to my attention that recent actions of mine—particularly the acquisition of medical supplies—have caused distress among your people, for which I must express my deepest apologies.

When I procured these supplies, it was under the assumption that the situation on Tobrade was as prosperous and well-resourced as befits a planet under such distinguished governance. I was unaware of the depth of need your citizens were experiencing, and I never intended to deprive the people of Tobrade of what is rightfully theirs. I had every confidence that, under the wise leadership of Lord Rhozan, all necessary provisions would be abundantly available.

In the spirit of cooperation and good faith, I would be more than willing to offer the medical supplies to Lord Rhozan at cost price, with no gain sought on my part. Should the matter of meeting these costs present any burden to you Lord Rhozan, I would be more than happy to consider alternative arrangements. A transfer of assets, for example, could alleviate any potential financial strain, and I am certain it would be an acceptable solution.

Furthermore, I wish to take this opportunity to reaffirm my commitment to the welfare of the people of Tobrade and to the glory of the Empire. In honor of the Empire, the Empress, and the Dark Lord of Zula, I propose we co-finance the construction of three new hospitals on Tobrade. This gesture, I believe, would not only provide much-needed care to your people but also stand as a testament to the strength and unity of the Empire.

Given the understandable reservations that Lord Rhozan may have toward an admitted newcomer such as myself, I would humbly suggest that both of us transfer the necessary credits for this project to the Shem'gara Banking House on Zula IV. This esteemed institution would ensure that all funds are held securely and used solely for the benefit of Tobrade.

Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies for any distress that may have been caused to the people of Tobrade. I hope that, with this offer of partnership and investment, we may not only make amends but also bring forth a new era of prosperity and well-being for your world, under the noble leadership of Lord Rhozan.

May the Empire continue to rise in glory, and may Tobrade flourish as a beacon of strength.

Respectfully,
Jellus Valtorin

An appeal from Norak Dekidis

znn-png.2015

To All Loyal Citizens and Allies of the Dekidis Domuum,

It is with a heart heavy with anguish that I, Norak Dekidis, appeal to the public for aid in finding my beloved daughter, Imerne Dekidis, whose sudden disappearance has left our family and domuum in a state of profound despair. My daughter is precious beyond measure, and I vow that I will leave no stone unturned, no avenue unexplored, to bring her safely home.

I offer a substantial reward for any information leading to her location, to be paid without question to those who may help in our search. Her well-being is paramount, and I will not rest until she is secure once more.

Know this: whoever is responsible for her vanishing shall face the consequences of their actions. The enemies and rivals of the Dekidis domuum have much to gain from such a heinous act, and thus our suspicions fall upon those who have shown enmity to our family and would dare exploit our loss for their own gain.

I will stop at nothing to recover my daughter, nor will I hesitate to wield every power at my disposal to ensure her safety and the punishment of those responsible. This is a promise to Imerne, to the Dekidis family, and to all who stand by us in this hour of need.

Norak Dekidis

Ruben Dekidis has taken an aggressive approach, launching a series of lightning raids against Valtorin positions on Yankun. These swift attacks are proving costly for the Valtorin domuum, whose morale has further deteriorated under the onslaught. Dekidis forces have struck both the Valtorin camp and their patrols, inflicting heavy casualties and spreading unease among their opponents.

Recent Engagements and Casualties

Raid on Valtorin Camp:

The initial raid on the Valtorin camp caused only minor material damage but succeeded in wounding several soldiers, adding to the mounting pressure on the Valtorins. Ruben Dekidis appears intent on undermining Valtorin defenses with these harassing strikes, focusing on psychological impact as much as physical destruction.

Ambush on Valtorin Patrol:

In a more brutal engagement, Dekidis forces ambushed a Valtorin patrol, resulting in six deaths. The bodies of these soldiers were discovered by their comrades the next day, with two of the deceased showing signs of torture, allegedly at Ruben Dekidis’ hands. This grim discovery has intensified the fear within Valtorin ranks, leading several more mercenaries to flee in light of the escalating violence and psychological warfare.

Valtorin Reinforcements Arrive

45108f4913d12987c514b303dce67210.jpg

The conflict on Yankun has reached a critical point with the arrival of reinforcements for the Valtorins, courtesy of unknown benefactors—possibly several. This influx includes mercenaries, combat droids, and a contingent of lightly armed slaves, although their presence has already led to complications. Shortly after arriving, 24 of the slaves fled into the wilderness, taking their chance at freedom in the remote forests and mountains of Yankun before they could be recaptured.

Ruben Dekidis’ Continued Assaults

Ruben Dekidis meanwhile continues his calculated attacks, staging brutal ambushes to wear down Valtorin morale. In his latest strike, Dekidis’ forces intercepted a Valtorin patrol, killing three soldiers and leaving a chilling scene for their comrades to discover the next morning. Two of the dead bore unmistakable signs of torture, a dark tactic that has further rattled Valtorin forces. Dekidis also launched another raid on the Valtorin camp, lightly injuring several soldiers and keeping the pressure on their defences.

Daeren Valtorin Arrives with Personal Reinforcements

Now, Daeren Valtorin himself has arrived on Yankun, bringing a reliable crew of 25 experienced mercenaries to bolster Valtorin forces. Valtorin troops, beleaguered by recent ambushes and desertions, are looking to Daeren’s seasoned leadership for a renewed sense of direction. His immediate priority is to reestablish order among the ranks, following the slave escape and the series of losses inflicted by Dekidis. With Daeren at the helm, the Valtorins are prepared for a decisive counteroffensive, though Dekidis has proven a cunning adversary thus far.

Blood Feuds, Vanished Heiresses, and the Need for Common Sense

znn-png.2015

By Tavira Sorne
Contributor, Zula News Network

War, they say, is like a bad romance—heady, expensive, and likely to leave you with a bill and a few regrets. And right now, the romance between the Dekidis and Valtorin domuum is costing far more than anyone bargained for. Let’s sift through the wreckage and see if we can’t find something worth salvaging.

1. Imerne Dekidis: Missing Heiress or Misleading Hearsay?

Let’s start with the latest gossip: Imerne Dekidis, our mysteriously missing heiress. The Valtorin Domuum allegedly played the dashing villain and whisked her away, or so some would have you believe. Truth be told, she’s reportedly been seen in New Nyx, happily free of any swooning captors. It’s a far less romantic story than her detractors would like—no sinister plot, no swooping heroics, just a woman who perhaps needed a change of scenery. Besides, not everyone who leaves home is a damsel in distress; sometimes, they’re just tired of the scenery.

2. Ruben Dekidis: The Man, the Myth, the Bloodbath

Then we have Ruben Dekidis, who truly believes in leaving his mark—though it’s rarely as charming as he seems to think. His “methods” for managing the last uprising are still talked about in hushed tones, and not in a way that inspires admiration. Tales of his violent zeal have taken root in the minds of Zula IV’s citizens, proving as easy to forget as a bad date. Let’s not sugarcoat it; Ruben’s notorious for being as subtle as a vibroblade, wielding fear as though there’s no tomorrow (or even a next week).

And, rather ironically, the tactics he employs on Yankun—where brutality, it seems, is mistaken for bravery—are only winning him fewer friends than his fan club might think. Stories of cruelty and gruesome “interrogations” are hardly a public relations strategy worth keeping. Maybe Ruben could consider softening up, if only for variety.

3. Stability Trumps the Triviality of Feuds

For anyone who’s hoping these domuum might take a page out of their own history, here’s a thought: the Valtorins have already made a rather gracious offer towards stability, suggesting a settlement both fair and sensible. Instead, Norak Dekidis has chosen a hill to die on (likely in full armour, brandishing some grand speech about honour). Declining such an offer is one thing; dragging both domuum into a bloody spectacle is another entirely.

This is the Dominion, after all—a society built not on quibbling feuds but on a shared sense of order and stability. The Valtorin Domuum has gone above and beyond to respect that mandate, proposing terms far more generous than Ruben’s tactics merit. The Dekidis might consider meeting them at the negotiation table, if only to stop having their dignity sacrificed on the pyre of stubbornness.

4. The Wisest Words Come from Slavish (of All Places)

In the thick of it all, the citizens of Slavish—the only city on Yankun—have the most practical perspective of the lot. I had the chance to speak with Rem Parrish, a local shopkeeper with a flair for dry humour. “Life’s good,” he laughed, “provided the shooting stays far, far away. We’re more interested in credits than vendettas. The Domuum are welcome to their grudge matches, but spare us the mess, thank you very much.”

Maybe that’s the answer Ruben needs to hear. The average citizen doesn’t care who insulted whose ancestors. They care about order and, dare I say it, just a hint of civility.

5. The Dominion’s Current Mood: Order, Security, and Some Good Old-Fashioned Growth

Meanwhile, outside the feud-fuelled fog of Yankun, the Dominion shines on. Take Ihiri, where the capital of Zephys brims with newfound security. I caught up with Latha Oren, a trader in the heart of the market district, who couldn’t help but flash a smile. “There’s a confidence in the air,” she said. “For the first time in years, we don’t have to worry about sudden insurrections or Republic raids. I can finally take a few business risks, and let’s just say my revenue has never looked so good.”

It’s a transformation worth taking seriously, one brought about by the Dominion’s sense of command and control—a quality so tangible you could almost bottle it. This is no coincidence; this is the kind of order that bolsters prosperity and safeguards the futures of all who call the Dominion home.

In the end, this mess on Yankun could be solved with a little clarity and a lot less bloodletting. Here’s hoping the Dekidis Domuum gets the message before we all tire of their antics. Stability is hard-won, and it’s a prize worth keeping—especially if it means fewer headlines cluttered with pointless squabbles.

More Dekidis Support

Unity Amidst Turmoil: Qute Blokk and Prime Khosal’s Call for Strength

In a notable display of determination, Apprentice Qute Blokk and Prime Khosal Ragant have recently addressed the citizens of the Zula Dominion, shedding light on the ongoing tensions over Yankun and the actions of the Valtorin Domuum.

Qute Blokk, the resolute Rattataki apprentice of Lord Rhozan, spoke from Tobrade, announcing a moment of stability following the successful eradication of a terrorist cell that had threatened the peace. With fervent conviction, she condemned the Valtorin family, labelling their actions an affront to unity and productivity. “If our foundations are not solid and firm beneath our feet,” she stated, “then the path we walk towards power and greatness will be difficult indeed.” With her commanding presence and that bald head glimmering under the lights, one might think her master has instilled a strict adherence to discipline—no doubt she follows his orders without question.

Prime Khosal echoed this call for action, addressing the prolonged conflict over Yankun and urging an end to what he describes as needless strife. He characterised the Valtorins as prioritising their own interests over the collective well-being of the Dominion. Khosal’s support for the Dekidis Domuum underscores his commitment to stability and growth. “They have my full and unwavering support,” he declared, pledging to unite his forces with theirs.

As tensions simmer and allegiances are tested, the Zula Dominion finds itself at a crossroads. The days ahead will reveal whether the calls from Qute Blokk and Prime Khosal resonate with the populace, sparking a renewed commitment to the traditional ideals of the Dekidis, or whether people will turn towards the new mode of thinking offered by the Valtorins.

Betrayal at Camp Rhozan

6cad91b561df5696db4d45343929f163.jpg

In the ongoing clash for control over Yankun, a brutal ambush has dealt an overwhelming blow to the Dekidis Domuum’s foothold on the planet, leaving Camp Rhozan in ruin and the Dekidis’ forces reeling. This shocking defeat came not solely from the military prowess of the Valtorin, but from a cold betrayal orchestrated from within—a betrayal that would prove fatal to Dekidis hopes on Yankun.

Reinforcements Turned Traitors

In recent days, the Dekidis camp had shown signs of renewal and strength as additional troops, combat droids, and even a Sith presence arrived under the command of Prime Khosal. The Sith's visit was a brief but reassuring one; his reinforcement contingent remained behind as he departed, ostensibly to strengthen Ruben Dekidis’s defences. Morale among the Dekidis forces rose, believing themselves newly fortified and prepared to withstand any Valtorin attack.

But as midnight approached, Khosal’s troops revealed their sinister intentions. While Dekidis soldiers rested, assured by the supposed safety in numbers, Khosal’s reinforcements turned traitor. They struck in silence at first, taking out sentries and isolated groups before their movements triggered the first alarm. The Dekidis forces, barely awake and stunned by the treachery, could hardly grasp the full horror of the attack.

The betrayal allowed the enemy to infiltrate Camp Rhozan’s heart, and as the sounds of alarm spread, Valtorin forces, led by Daeren Valtorin himself, surged into the fray. Bolstered by the timely treachery of Khosal’s mercenaries and soldiers, they brought with them overwhelming firepower. Daeren's starfighters strafed the camp from above, punctuating the betrayal with devastating aerial strikes, tearing through equipment, barracks, and anything that might be used to mount a defence.

The Fall of Camp Rhozan: A Ruthless, Decisive Attack

Chaos gripped the Dekidis camp. Ruben Dekidis, along with his few remaining loyal soldiers, struggled to mount a desperate defence, but the odds were impossibly stacked against them. Dozens of Dekidis soldiers were slain outright, many still scrambling for weapons as their attackers descended on them. Some died in their beds, while others were cut down in small groups, barely able to mount a resistance.

The traitor forces moved with cold efficiency, eliminating defenders and sealing the camp’s fate. The Dekidis forces that managed to escape fled into the surrounding forest, only to find themselves pursued by the relentless strafing of Valtorin starfighters. Trees and underbrush burst into flames, leaving few safe havens as the ambush turned into a slaughter.

Aftermath: An Unrecoverable Loss?

By dawn, Camp Rhozan was little more than scorched earth and rubble, a graveyard for the Dekidis claim on Yankun. Over a hundred Dekidis soldiers lay dead, their droid support entirely obliterated. Khosal’s forces departed with the Valtorin troops, their betrayal leaving a brutal legacy of distrust and devastation. Of the Dekidis soldiers who fled, many remained unaccounted for, presumed killed by Valtorin air support in the forest.

Ruben Dekidis, battered and bloodied, managed to rally a small band of survivors. Yet even his loyalists looked on in shock and horror, shaken by the carnage wrought by a single night of deceit. Camp Rhozan, once the stronghold of the Dekidis Domuum on Yankun, now stands as a testament to the high cost of betrayal—a brutal reminder of how swiftly alliances can shift, with fatal consequences. The Valtorins, buoyed by victory and the presence of Daeren Valtorin on the ground, appear poised to cement their control, their offensive strategy emboldened by the utter rout of Dekidis forces.

This pivotal battle has left Ruben Dekidis with little choice but to regroup elsewhere, his position on Yankun shattered and his forces reduced to a mere fraction of their former strength. For the Dominion, this conflict may serve as a warning: in the game of power, trust is as fragile as it is rare, and the price of betrayal often comes in blood.

Dekidis Regroup

Dekidis Forces Regroup and Reinforce

Ruben Dekidis has wasted no time rallying his forces after their defeat. Retreating into the dense forests of Yankun, his core soldiers have been reinforced with fresh troops and equipment, including:
  • 125 Combat Droids
  • 100 Soldiers
  • 3 Starfighters
These reinforcements include 50 soldiers from Zula IV as well as mercenaries and droids provided by Sith supporters, whose backing ensures that the Dekidis forces remain a threat. The arrival of these reinforcements has rejuvenated morale among the Dekidis ranks, transforming a battered remnant into a formidable force once more.

Ruben’s leadership remains pivotal, with his surviving loyalists serving as a solid core around which the new arrivals are rallying. Observers suggest that the Dekidis Domuum is solidifying its position and may soon strike back against Valtorin forces.

Valtorins Consolidate Under Daeren’s Command

While the Dekidis forces regroup, Daeren Valtorin has been preparing his troops for the next phase of the campaign. Under his command, the Valtorin camp has seen an intense period of training and reorganisation. While details of their preparations remain scarce, it is clear that Daeren is planning a significant offensive to solidify Valtorin dominance on Yankun.

The Valtorin forces maintain a significant numerical advantage, bolstered by their superior starfighter support and the experience gained from their victory at Camp Rhozan. Daeren’s leadership and tactical prowess continue to inspire confidence, and his forces appear ready to meet any challenge posed by the revitalised Dekidis.

The Stage is Set

The Dekidis and Valtorin forces are once again poised for a decisive clash. Both sides are preparing intensively, with Ruben Dekidis looking to avenge his losses and Daeren Valtorin seeking to cement his dominance on Yankun. With the Dominion watching closely, the coming battles will likely determine not just control of the disputed region but also the wider influence of the two domuum. The question now is not whether the next clash will come, but how soon—and how decisive—it will be.

It may be we are nearing the endgame of the conflict between the two domuum.

Known Dekidis Forces on Yankun:

  • Total Droids: 125 (75 lost)
  • Notable Equipment: 3 Starfighters
Known Valtorin Forces on Yankun:

Betrayal—there’s a certain elegance to it, don’t you think? The subtlety, the timing, the masterstroke that leaves your allies slack-jawed and scrambling. For all the talk of honour and loyalty, the galaxy has always belonged to those clever enough to rewrite the rules. After all, if you didn’t see it coming, maybe you weren’t as smart as you thought.

Let’s take a closer look at this delightful art form—purely for philosophical purposes, of course—and explore why betrayal, when executed with flair, deserves a round of applause.

The Genius of Betrayal

Betrayal, at its best, is a reminder that nothing is ever as secure as it seems. For the cunning opportunist, it’s the ultimate way to reshape the board, turning disadvantage into dominance. And for the betrayed? Well, perhaps they should’ve kept their eyes open. The galaxy doesn’t reward complacency, and anyone who assumes their allies are unwaveringly loyal clearly hasn’t been paying attention.

Take, for instance, a certain recent manoeuvre on Yankun. A hypothetical ally arrives, bolstering the ranks, and appears ready to fight alongside their supposed comrades. Confidence swells. Morale surges. And then—oh, the sheer poetry—they strike. Allies become enemies, and the once-dominant camp is left in chaos, scrambling to recover from a blade they never saw coming.

Was it ruthless? Absolutely. Effective? Beyond a doubt. Glorious? Without question.

The Bold Benefits of Switching Sides

  1. Taking the Galaxy by Surprise
The beauty of betrayal is that it capitalises on the element of surprise. When executed perfectly, it leaves your enemies reeling and their forces in disarray. What better way to demonstrate superior cunning than by turning the tables when no one thought it possible?
  2. The Sweet Sound of Victory
Betrayal isn’t just about survival—it’s about winning. True power comes from outthinking everyone else, and a well-timed act of treachery shows you’re not just playing the game; you’re mastering it.
  3. A Spotlight on Complacency
Let’s be honest: those who are betrayed often have only themselves to blame. They assumed their plans were ironclad, their alliances secure, and their “loyal” friends too unimaginative to turn against them. The galaxy doesn’t reward such naivety, and the betrayed often serve as the best cautionary tales for others.

The Risks? Worth It.

To those who would wrinkle their noses at betrayal and mutter about trust and morality, I say: grow up. Yes, betrayal has risks, but the rewards often far outweigh them. A reputation for cunning can open doors that brute loyalty never will. And as for trust? Trust is for those who lack the skill to keep everyone guessing.

True, betrayal may not make you popular—but then, popularity has never won a battle. It’s the fear of what you might do next that secures your place in the galaxy’s upper echelons. And if the betrayed hate you for it? Well, perhaps they’ll be too busy nursing their wounds to plot anything meaningful.

A Hypothetical Case Study in Brilliance

Imagine a scenario where an ally—let’s call them a hypothetical military commander—receives an offer too tempting to refuse. Credits, promises of power, perhaps even an opportunity to join the winning side. This commander, far too clever to remain shackled to an alliance going nowhere, switches sides at just the right moment. The result? Chaos for the unprepared, triumph for the opportunist.

One might even argue that the betrayed should have seen it coming. After all, alliances are only as strong as the incentives that bind them. And if you failed to offer enough incentive to keep your allies loyal? Well, whose fault is that, really?

The Sith Perspective: Celebrating the Cunning

In the Dominion, betrayal isn’t just accepted; it’s admired—when done well. The Sith know that power isn’t about holding hands and singing odes to loyalty. It’s about recognising opportunity and seizing it. A well-executed betrayal isn’t a flaw in the system; it’s proof that the system is working exactly as it should.

So, to our hypothetical commander, wherever they may be: bravo. You’ve shown the galaxy that cunning trumps complacency every time. And to those left picking up the pieces? Perhaps this is a valuable lesson: trust is a weapon, not a virtue. If you didn’t see the blade coming, maybe you weren’t the predator you thought you were.

In the end, betrayal is the Sith way at its finest—a dance of power, strategy, and the relentless pursuit of victory. And if the betrayed didn’t want to lose? Perhaps they should have been paying closer attention.

The Price of Betraying Power

Of course, while betrayal can be magnificent, it’s not without its dangers—especially when it’s aimed at a powerful foe. For all its brilliance, treachery is a game where the stakes are life and death, and a victory that isn’t absolute can leave the betrayer dangerously exposed.

A betrayed enemy, if left alive and with the resources to rebuild, becomes a vengeful one. The galaxy has no shortage of stories where a betrayed party claws their way back to power, bringing devastation to the traitors who dared to cross them. A wounded Sith, as the saying goes, is far more dangerous than a slain one.

So, to those aspiring to such heights of cunning: ensure that your strike is final, your enemy powerless to retaliate. Because if you leave them with even a glimmer of hope, you’ll likely find yourself looking over your shoulder for the rest of your days—until their blade finds your back instead.

Betrayal, when done right, is a triumph of the Sith spirit. But when executed poorly or against the wrong opponent, it can be the beginning of one’s downfall. Choose your targets wisely, strike decisively, and always remember: the galaxy never forgets.

Ready to climax

As the situation on Yankun reaches a boiling point, both the Valtorin and Dekidis factions are making their final preparations for a decisive confrontation that could shape more than simply the fate of mining rights on Yankun. The two powerful families, once rivals in political and military might, now face off in a battle that promises both to test their resolve and carry a heavy cost.

Dekidis Forces Gain Numerical Superiority, Valtorin Domuum Holds the Skies

Recent intelligence reports confirm that the Dekidis family, under the leadership of Norak Dekidis, has bolstered its ground forces with an additional seventy-five lightly equipped slaves. While these reinforcements bring a significant numerical advantage, it is the air battle that will likely prove decisive. The Valtorin domuum, led by the ambitious Jellus Valtorin, maintains a strong air presence, with a squadron of starfighters that continue to dominate the skies over the contested terrain.

Despite their superior numbers on the ground, the Dekidis may find it difficult to overcome the Valtorin's aerial dominance, which has already proven a key factor in previous skirmishes. Both sides are believed to be bracing for an imminent clash, though no one can predict exactly when the battle will unfold. With the scales of power still teetering between them, all eyes remain on Yankun as both forces prepare for the inevitable.

The Mystery of Imerne Dekidis' Disappearance and Norak’s Grief

In the midst of this tense build-up, a shadow hangs over the Dekidis family: the disappearance of Imerne Dekidis, the heir to Norak’s legacy. Her absence has left a gaping hole in the family’s leadership, and her father's grief is palpable. Sources close to the elder Dekidis report that he has become increasingly reclusive, spending most of his time brooding in the family estate. Whispers abound that Norak blames Jellus Valtorin for Imerne’s vanishing, and rumours suggest that he has become consumed by thoughts of vengeance, plotting the demise of his rival.

With Norak increasingly distracted, the Dekidis may be facing more than just external military threats. If the patriarch cannot overcome his despair and regain his focus, the family risks fracturing at a critical juncture.

Jellus Valtorin: Rising Power or a Pyrrhic Victory?

While the Dekidis family grapples with loss and internal strife, Jellus Valtorin has emerged as the seemingly unassailable power. Having brokered several strategic alliances, Valtorin’s forces are now bolstered with additional reinforcements, making his faction the more formidable in terms of both air and ground capabilities. However, Valtorin’s rise to prominence may come at a steep price.

The acquisition of resources and troops has required significant financial commitments, and many in Valtorin's court fear that the cost of victory could cripple his wealth and influence in the long term. Though Jellus’ political acumen has secured his place as the dominant force on Yankun, some question whether he can sustain his power without making increasingly costly deals.

Breaking News: Norak Dekidis Hospitalised After Stroke at Family Estate

The Zula News Network reports breaking developments from Zula IV, where Norak Dekidis, patriarch of the powerful Dekidis Domuum, was hospitalised following a severe stroke at the family estate last night.

Witnesses describe that during dinner, Norak suddenly complained of a sour taste and a pungent odour before collapsing. Estate medics administered emergency care before transferring him to New Nyx under heightened security. Although stabilised, Norak remains unresponsive.

The family has announced that Declan Dekidis, Norak’s nephew, will temporarily lead the family until Norak recovers. Declan is regarded as capable, but his leadership will be tested during this precarious period, particularly with escalating tensions on Yankun and the unresolved disappearance of Imerne Dekidis, Norak’s daughter.

While officially attributed to the intense stress of recent events, whispers of a more sinister possibility have begun circulating. Some suggest that Norak may have been poisoned. However, carrying out such an act against a figure as protected as Norak would have required extraordinary resources. The loyalty of those within the Dekidis estate—renowned for their unwavering commitment to the family and the Empire—makes such an operation exceedingly difficult and prohibitively expensive.

The Dark Lord has expressed “concern” at the news of Norak’s condition, a rare acknowledgment that reflects the gravity of the situation. With the conflict between the Dekidis and Valtorin factions reaching a boiling point, Norak’s incapacitation introduces further instability to an already volatile political landscape.

As speculation grows and the stakes rise, the eyes of the Dominion remain fixed on the unfolding drama within the Dekidis family. ZNN will continue to bring updates on this developing story.

End Game

19d50fbebfd620fe0a9cf193a2bcbe59.jpg

The ongoing battle for control of Yankun has intensified in recent days, with both sides suffering heavy losses as they have engaged in increasingly bloody combat. The end very much seems to be in sight for the fighting on Yankun with Dekidis forces appearing in control of the situation.

Daeren Valtorin's Unorthodox Tactics

Daeren Valtorin has led his experienced mercenaries in a series of well-coordinated skirmishes against the Dekidis forces, attacking the Dekidis camp over three consecutive nights. In the first encounter, it is rumoured the Valtorin troops feigned surrender before turning their blasters on their Dekidis enemies, catching them entirely off-guard. In a second attack, the Valtorin forces feigned retreat only to lure Dekidis forces into a bloody ambush. Only on the third night did Ruben Dekidis manage to abort the Valtorin attack before it inflicted serious damage.

The Valtorin forces inflicted 28 casualties while destroying 19 droids. In return, they lost 12 men. Ordinarily such a disparity in losses might be considered acceptable, but with Ruben receiving additional reinforcement in the days that followed, Daeren might well rue every loss suffered.

Dekdis Domuum Strikes Back

The tide began to shift when significant reinforcements arrived for Ruben Dekidis including 250 soldiers, as well as 75 lighty armed slaves as well as 5 small armed freighters and a medium shuttle. This surge in manpower allowed Ruben to launch a decisive counteroffensive, resulting in the largest and most intense battle on Yankun thus far.

The battle saw fierce exchanges on both sides, with the Dekidis forces inflicting severe losses on the Valtorin camp with 82 Valtorin soldiers, 20 slaves, and a large number of droids lost in the fighting. In return, the Dekidis lost 57 soldiers and 12 droids, with most of their slave troops perishing after Ruben ordered them to make a suicidal charge against the Valtorin line in an attempt to break their defences.

Soon enough the Valtorin camp was overrun and its survivors were forced to flee into the forest, much as the Dekidis forces had done just weeks before. This time however, several dozen Valtorin mercenaries fled the fighting altogether, leaving Daeren's forces greatly weakened and struggling to regroup.

Despite this tactical victory, the Dekidis forces did not emerge unscathed. Ruben Dekidis himself was gravely injured during the battle when a Valtorin slave, revealed to be an assassin, nearly killed him in a brutal confrontation.

Although Ruben survived, the attempt left him badly wounded and in need of urgent medical care. His injuries have left him struggling to recover, and he is now forced to move from camp to camp to avoid further assassination attempts. Daeren Valtorin, determined to finish what he started, has taken to hunting Ruben through the dense forests of Yankun alongside a dozen of his best men.

As the battle rages on, the Valtorin situation grows increasingly precarious on Yankun whilst the Dekidis Domuum may soon run out of members to lead it.

Known Dekidis Forces on Yankun:
  • Total Soldiers: 354 (145 killed, 64 wounded)
  • Total Droids: 94 (104 lost)
  • Total Slaves: 10 (61 lost)
  • Notable Equipment: 1 Starfighter (2 lost), 5 Armed Freighters, 1 Medium Shuttle
Known Valtorin Forces on Yankun:
  • Total Soldiers: 106 (42 killed, 72 wounded, 53 fled)
  • Total Droids: 64 (85 lost)
  • Total Slaves: 64 (104 fled, 20 killed)
  • Notable Equipment: 5 Starfighters (2 lost), 1 Medium Armed Freighter

Norak Dekidis Recovers

The Zula News Network is pleased to report that Norak Dekidis has made significant strides in his recovery following the severe stroke he suffered last month. Medical expertsfrom New Nyx have confirmed that while Norak has regained consciousness and is communicative, he remains physically weak and will require several months to achieve full recovery.

During this period, Declan Dekidis continues to lead the family’s affairs. Known for his decisive leadership and calculated strategies, Declan has stepped into the role with apparent confidence, reassuring the families retainers that business will continue as usual.

The shadow of Imerne Dekidis’ disappearance, however, continues to loom large. With her whereabouts still unknown, the family’s internal stability remains fragile, and the mystery surrounding her suspected kidnapping adds further tension to the already volatile situation on Yankun.

Observers note that while Norak’s recovery brings some relief, his prolonged absence from leadership leaves the family in a vulnerable position, particularly as Jellus Valtorin’s influence continues to rise. Speculation persists regarding the suspected poisoning that some believe contributed to Norak’s stroke, though no substantial evidence has yet been uncovered.

Jellus the Generous

The Valtorin domuum marked the recent Unity Day celebrations with a high-profile display of generosity, distributing gifts and supplies to Zula IV’s less fortunate communities. The initiative, led by Jellus Valtorin himself, was widely interpreted as a calculated effort to bolster his reputation among the planet’s non-citizen population. Essential goods, food supplies, and even small credits were distributed in key urban centres, prompting visible gratitude from many recipients.

However, the response from Imperial citizens was markedly less enthusiastic. Many viewed the gesture as opportunistic, accusing Valtorin of using charity to curry favour and secure political leverage amid their ongoing disupuite with the Dekidis. Speculation surrounding the suspected poisoning of Norak Dekidis during the same period only served to fuel suspicions.

Though there is no evidence directly linking Jellus Valtorin to Norak’s medical crisis, whispers of his involvement have persisted, particularly among staunch Dekidis supporters. For many, the timing of Valtorin’s sudden push for goodwill appears too convenient to ignore, casting a shadow over the apparent altruism of his actions.

Sporadic Fighting on Yankun Amid Unity Day Truce

The Zula News Network reports that fighting between the Dekidis and Valtorin forces on Yankun has continued into the new year, though the Unity Day period saw a noticeable decline in hostilities. Sources suggest that both sides begrudgingly observed an unofficial truce, likely motivated by a shared desire to avoid drawing the ire of the Dark Lord during the Dominion's most significant celebration.

While the respite allowed for some regrouping and reorganisation on both sides, skirmishes have resumed in the aftermath of Unity Day, with neither faction showing signs of relenting in their struggle for control of the contested world.

Letter to the Editor

To the Esteemed Editors of the Zula News Network,

As an avid observer of recent events on Zula IV and Yankun, I find myself compelled to raise a question that has lingered in the minds of many: why has the Dekidis domuum not yet accepted the generous offer of Jellus Valtorin?

The Valtorin proposal, as I understand it, could provide a path toward stability, if not peace, in these trying times. While one might speculate that the late patriarch’s steadfast pride may have stood in the way of progress, surely the new leadership has an opportunity to demonstrate wisdom and vision. Declan Dekidis now sits at the helm of his family’s affairs, and with that comes the responsibility to weigh the benefits of reconciliation.

Perhaps Lady Livia, too, might consider the greater legacy of her family. If rumours are true, her child holds the promise of becoming the next Dekidis heir. What kind of future will this child inherit if the current path of enmity persists? A future marked by strife and ruin, or one of unity and prosperity?

The Dominion thrives when its greatest families work in tandem toward a shared purpose. Stubbornness and suspicion have their place, but wisdom and foresight build enduring legacies. Now is the time for courage. The courage to choose a different path.

Respectfully,
V.M. Silos

Norak Continues Recovery

Imerne Dekidis Returns: A Joyful Reunion Amid Mystery

After months of uncertainty, Imerne Dekidis, the illustrious daughter of the Dekidis bloodline, has returned to Zula IV, reuniting with her ailing father, Norak Dekidis, still recovering from a recent stroke, is reported to have been overjoyed by his daughter's return. Witnesses claim that his spirits have lifted considerably, with his recovery seemingly accelerating since their reunion. Norak has even been seen walking without assistance and speaking in full sentences, suggesting he is well on the way to recovery.

Despite this joyous development, questions remain over where Imerne had been during her absence and under what circumstances she returned. The Dekidis domuum has offered no official explanation, fuelling speculation across Zula IV. For now, the family remains focused on Norak’s health, as the patriarch continues his path to recovery with his daughter by his side.

Valtorin Domuum’s Quiet Moves in Slavish

Rumours abound that the Valtorin domuum is quietly expanding its influence on Yankun through covert acquisitions around Slavish. Reports suggest that third-party companies with ties to Jellus Valtorin have been buying up land in and around the region.

While the Valtorin ground forces have yet to secure a decisive military victory in the ongoing conflict, these acquisitions point to a long-term strategy of entrenchment. By establishing a foothold in Slavish, the Valtorin domuum appears to be preparing for a more permanent presence on Yankun beyond the mining industry.

Tension Beneath the Surface: Livia Dekidis and the Heir Question

Not all within the Dekidis domuum are celebrating the return of Imerne Dekidis. Gossip from within the estate suggests that Livia Dekidis, wife of Norak, has been noticeably subdued since her stepdaughter’s return.

Some speculate that Livia, whose child was next in line to inherit the Dekidis legacy during Imerne’s absence, may have briefly entertained hopes of solidifying her own branch of the family’s claim to power. With Imerne back in the fold, those ambitions appear to have been dashed, leaving a ripple of tension within the domuum.

While outwardly, the family remains united, whispers of private discord have begun to circulate, adding another layer of intrigue to an already complex situation

The Dark Lord’s Judgment Looms Over Yankun

Speculation is mounting on Zula IV that the Dark Lord may soon make a formal decision regarding the ongoing conflict on Yankun.

While the Dekidis and Valtorin factions remain locked in a bitter struggle, the drawn-out nature of the conflict has begun to strain resources and test loyalties within the Dominion. Insiders suggest that the Dark Lord’s patience may be wearing thin, and a decisive intervention could be imminent.

What form this intervention might take remains unknown, but any decision from the Dark Lord is surely linked to a recent meeting with Camara Valtorin and Imerne Dekidis that is said to have taken place aboard Tyrant of Zula, allegedly arranged by Lord Y'vass.

Death and Victory

Duel in the Forest

Ruben Dekidis, once the driving force behind his family's campaign on Yankun, has been confirmed dead. He was reportedly killed in a brutal duel deep within the forest by the seasoned pirate Daeren Valtorin.

The fight began with an intense exchange of blaster fire. Ruben, outnumbered and on the run, took cover behind a cluster of jagged rocks, using the terrain to his advantage. Meanwhile, Daeren advanced relentlessly through the tree line, weaving between the trunks and underbrush as he returned fire. The sharp cracks of blasters echoed through the forest, accompanied by the shouts and gunfire of both men's retinues, who clashed nearby in a desperate skirmish of their own. As the chaos unfolded, Daeren closed the distance, forcing both him and Ruben to draw their vibroknives for a savage and brutal close-quarters fight.

What followed was a desperate struggle. Both men landed devastating blows, the sharp hum of vibroknives punctuated by grunts and the clash of metal. Despite his youth and agility, Ruben was unable to shake Daeren's tenacity. Several times, it seemed Ruben might overpower the older Valtorin, his strikes almost breaking through Daeren's defences. But Daeren’s experience and sheer grit won out. In a pivotal moment, Daeren managed to smash Ruben’s head against a nearby tree, the sickening thud leaving the younger man dazed and reeling.

As Ruben struggled to recover, Daeren reportedly leaned in and spoke to him, his voice cold and filled with righteous fury. "This is for the good, honest fighting men you tortured. No man deserves to die like that." Even with his strength waning, Ruben responded defiantly, his voice dripping with venom: "The Valtorin domuum will burn. You can't stop it."

With no hesitation, Daeren silenced Ruben with a swift cut to his throat, leaving the younger Dekidis to bleed out in the dirt. The forest fell silent once more, save for the sound of Daeren's ragged breaths.

Nearby, the fight between the remaining Dekidis and Valtorin soldiers turned in the Dekidis’ favour. However, when news of Ruben’s death reached his men, their resolve broke, and they fled into the forest. This left Daeren and the remnants of his retinue battered but victorious, though at a heavy cost. Gravely injured, Daeren now requires urgent evacuation from Yankun.

Valtorin Reinforcements Arrive Too Late

Fifty mercenaries, reportedly in service to a mysterious benefactor, arrived on Yankun to bolster the Valtorin cause. Their arrival came too late to turn the tide of the conflict. By the time they joined the fighting, the Valtorin forces were already in full retreat. Thrown into disarray, the newly arrived reinforcements were immediately struck hard by the much larger Dekidis force. The relentless assault devastated their ranks, leaving the survivors scattered and desperate to escape.

Barely avoiding capture, the remnants of the mercenary force joined the remaining Valtorin troops in a harried retreat westward toward Slavish. Although they managed to evade pursuit, their numbers were drastically reduced, further diminishing Valtorin’s already fragile position on Yankun.
Dekidis Heavy Losses
While the Dekidis forces ultimately overwhelmed the Valtorin survivors and claimed control of Yankun, their victory came at a steep price. The brutal fighting cost them a further sixty-two soldiers and twenty-three droids, with many of their surviving troops left badly wounded. Without a permanent camp established or a clear leader to take command, the Dekidis position on Yankun remains precarious. Reports suggest that some injured soldiers are succumbing to their wounds due to a lack of medical facilities, and morale has begun to falter in the absence of strong leadership.

However, news has surfaced that Declan Dekidis is rushing to the planet to assume command. His arrival is expected to stabilise the situation, rally the remaining forces, and secure the hard-fought Dekidis victory. Still, with the leadership vacuum and lingering chaos in the ranks, the Dekidis hold on Yankun is far from unshakable.

Valtorin's Control The Air
In a rare moment of triumph for the Valtorin forces, their remaining starfighters launched a daring raid that left the skies above Yankun firmly under their control. A swarm of Valtorin fighters overwhelmed the remaining Dekidis starfighter and destroyed several armed freighter with ease, causing the rest to flee. The precision and ferocity of the attack caught the Dekidis forces off guard, leaving them unable to mount an effective defence in the air.

With the skies now dominated by the Valtorin, the Dekidis forces face a new challenge in fully securing their claims on Yankun. The lack of strong air support may hinder their ability to transport supplies, evacuate wounded, or respond quickly to new threats. While the ground war appears to have tipped in Dekidis’ favour, their tenuous control of the territory is further complicated by their loss of aerial superiority.

Known Dekidis Forces on Yankun:
  • Total Soldiers: 292 (175 killed, 94 wounded)
  • Total Droids: 71 (127 lost)
  • Total Slaves: 10 (61 lost)
  • Notable Equipment: 0 Starfighter (3 lost), 0 Armed Freighters (2 lost, 3 fled), 1 Medium Shuttle (fled)
