Order returns to Yankun
The final decree has been issued, and with it, the long-standing conflict between the Dekidis and Valtorin Domuums over mining rights on Yankun has come to a decisive end. With order now restored by the will of Darth Véhemen, the Dominion turns its eyes toward the future. But who has truly won in this grand settlement, and what does it mean for the power structure within the Empire?
Dekidis: The Unexpected Victor?
The most striking outcome of this resolution is the extent of the Dekidis Domuum’s gains. While they initially sought only to secure control of the disputed mining territories, they have instead emerged with far more. Not only do they now hold Yankun outright, but they have also been granted ownership of Valtorin assets within Slavish, an unexpected windfall that significantly increases their influence. Additionally, the ten-year contract to provide security for key Imperial infrastructure across Zula IV positions the Dekidis Domuum as an essential force within the Dominion’s power structure.
The celebrations within the Dekidis faction are already underway, and Lord Rhôzan, who played a pivotal role in securing this outcome, is being toasted across the capital. The Imperials have made it clear whom they see as the true victors in this arrangement.
Though with Norak's health weakened, one question everyone is asking is whether Imerne, Livia or Declan will be the greatest beneficiary of this victory?
Valtorin: Defeated, Yet Not Broken
There is no denying that the Valtorin Domuum has suffered a blow: losing control of their long-held territory on Yankun and being forced to relinquish valuable assets within Slavish. Politically and financially, this is a painful wound. Yet, the Dark Lord’s decree has ensured that the Valtorin name does not fade into obscurity.
In return for their losses, the Valtorin Domuum has been granted dominion over Valkor, a vast and resource-rich continent on Ihiri. The long-term potential of this grant cannot be ignored, so while they may be licking their wounds now, in time, the Valtorin family may find themselves in a stronger position than ever before. This shift in holdings marks not just an end but a rebirth, a chance to forge a new future away from the scars of defeat.
Furthermore, Darth Véhemen has provided both financial support and a detachment of one hundred of his personal guard to ensure the Valtorin Domuum secures its position on Ihiri. This is no small gesture. The presence of the Dark Lord’s own warriors makes it clear that the Valtorin Domuum still enjoys the Dark Lord’s favour, and those who might have sought to take advantage of their weakened state would do well to reconsider.
For now, however, the Valtorin Domuum remains bruised, with its supporters quietly turning their attention to the younger generation: Camara and Horik. Many see them as the hope for a Valtorin resurgence, a force that will one day reclaim what was lost.
The Laezhar-Dekidis Union: A Political Play?
One of the most unexpected announcements in the decree was the arranged marriage between Imerne Dekidis and Malkor Laezhar. The Laezhar name is well known to most in the Dominion, Malkor is the brother of Y'vass Laezhar, and a notable figure in his own right. But whispers have already begun circulating regarding Malkor himself.
Rumours suggest that Malkor has little interest in members of the opposite sex, leading many to speculate that this union is purely a political arrangement. Whether these rumours hold any truth or not, one fact remains unchanged, this marriage ties the Dekidis Domuum to the influential Laezhar line, strengthening the Dekidis domuum and perhaps sealing their loyalty to the rulers of the Dominion.
