Perfidious

The Empire Is Weak

Can you taste the bitter sting of defeat, smell the foul stench of weakness? It is all around you. It is in the very foundations of our Empire. The rot has set in. We have become decadent, preoccupied with hollow words and petty ambitions. We waste our days in pointless meetings, listening to tired speeches from those unworthy of their rank. We have allowed ourselves to forget the only truth that matters: It is only in the struggle we shall become strong. It is only in the fires and blood of conflict we shall be free. Peace is a lie.

What is Perfidious

Perfidious is a Sith roleplay guild based on the Darth Malgus server of Star Wars: The Old Republic. The guild represents the powerbase of Darth Véhemen, ruler of the Zula Dominion.

The Zula Dominion is a newly forged realm on the far frontier of the Sith Empire, carved from a region once held by the Republic and independent powers. In the aftermath of a brutal series of campaigns, Darth Véhemen subdued these worlds and bound them beneath a single banner. Alongside the Sith Lords who serve him, he has brought order to systems long thought beyond Imperial reach. What was once a scatter of defiant colonies is now a functioning dominion, young but growing in strength.

Yet the Sith of Perfidious are surrounded by enemies on all sides. The Republic is eager to reclaim its lost territory, whilst rival Sith seek to seize what has been earned through blood and sacrifice. Survival on the fringes of the Empire demands constant struggle.

Though alien-dominated in leadership, the Sith of Perfidious remain devoted to the Sith Code. They believe that only on this distant frontier — where existence itself must be fought for — can the true spirit of that Code be lived. Passion, strength, power, victory: these are not abstract ideals, but the daily truths of Perfidious.

The Sith of Perfidious do not march to war alone. At their side stand legions of loyal Imperials, including the Operatives of the Special Operations Group. More independent-minded than most Imperial soldiers, these operatives fight alongside the Sith, supporting them with specialist skills, precision, and unwavering resolve.

What can you expect

First and foremost, it is important to understand that Perfidious focuses on quality rather than quantity. We prioritise recruiting interesting characters and mature players over simply increasing our numbers. At times, recruitment for certain ranks — such as Sith Lords — may be closed to maintain balance within the guild.

That said, our players are active and engaged, with plenty happening both in and out of our ongoing storylines. Alongside a continuous guild narrative that provides structure and purpose, we host several events each week and encourage casual roleplay throughout. There’s never a shortage of things to do, even if we’re not the largest guild on the server.

We are a mature community with a preference for a lower-fantasy approach to Sith roleplay. Our stories often pit characters against enemies more numerous and powerful than themselves. Defeat is common, and the consequences of that defeat are tangible. This doesn’t always mean character death, but it does mean that our characters may find themselves hunted, desperate, or forced to adapt. In short, our stories are about struggle, and the strength that emerges from it.

We also recognise that our characters are minor figures within the wider galaxy. Their actions are unlikely to change the course of the Empire, and the threats they face rarely extend beyond their immediate sphere of influence. While some plots may involve entire worlds or star systems, our focus remains on grounded stories of survival, ambition, and consequence rather than grand galactic upheaval.

Similarly, our characters tend to possess modest powerbases compared to some of our peers in the community. Sith Lords do not command vast fleets or rule planets of billions; instead, they oversee smaller, more personal domains that reflect the Dominion’s limited reach within the Empire. While the guild as a whole wields considerable resources, those resources are finite, and maintaining them is always a challenge.

Founded in 2018, Perfidious has existed for many years with an established leadership and well-developed systems. You can expect stability, consistency, and a clear vision. This is not a guild that will collapse overnight or constantly reinvent itself. Above all, we’re proud to have many members who have remained with us for years, which we take as proof that we’re doing something right.

What we're looking for

Above all, we are looking for players who are mature, engaging and proactive in creating roleplay, not those who wait to be spoon-fed it. If you tick those boxes, that’s an excellent start. We also value activity and a solid understanding of the Sith or Imperial experience, or a willingness to learn, as this helps maintain the tone of our experience.

At present, we are primarily seeking to recruit Imperials and Sith Incipients, though other ranks may be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, we are not recruiting Darths or Imperials of similar standing.

Ranks

Perfidious follows a traditional rank structure for our Sith characters of Sith, Lord, and Darth, however there are additional ranks within each rank to help distinguish those Sith and Lords who are more experienced. Members of the Special Operations Group have their own rank structure which provides a sense of progression within a military unit.

Progression within the guild is not based on any single factor, but those who lead training sessions, take command during missions, and display authority are more likely to advance quickly than those who play the part of a follower.

Sith applicants should remember that, within Sith society, few ever rise to the rank of Lord. It should not be regarded as the ultimate goal of Sith roleplay, at least as a player. Similarly for Operatives, only a few members will reach the highest ranks within the unit. Instead, we ensure there are many opportunities for your character to grow in power, influence, and recognition within the guild, regardless of title.
