Through the Anomaly

Powerbase,
As you all know, several months ago we embarked in a new fantastical journey to the unknown. We wished to uncover the secrets of the universe and dominate them. Under the efficient leadership of Lord Maldrec Caldras, we managed to form into three branches to better tackle the issues that we found past the point of little return.
The first penetration of the anomaly has been done with the help of the Powerbase forces (on the 22nd 08) where we fought a valiant naval battle, as well as a close encounter with the Mandalorians, dealing a crushing blow to our enemies on the Genet'Varad station (now Imperial Space Station) which we have claimed as the current base of operation past the Anomaly. After dealing with the Mandaloian threat, we have discovered upon the Space Station a strange machine. Its rhythmic pulsations indicated that the device was a kind of beacon, but a piece of it is missing in order to make it fully functional.
The branches of the expeditions were split as so: Military, Intelligence, and Research. Each holds an important role to bring Victory to the Empire.
Long live the Empire,
Lord Esmée Caldras
Military - Spearheaded by Lord Maldrec Caldras
Team components: Algra, Qana
The military had as its main task to deal with the impending threat from the Mandalorian Vanguard. By doing so, they reduced the threat and also brought back materials to repair Yengel after the initial assault. In addition to this, the military team has dealt with threats that were found within the Imperial Stations that were not uncovered in the initial attack.
Sith Qana has managed to recover the Mandalorian ship, which was brought to the Ministry and had its parts stripped, and navcomp, systems and engines to figure out if there was anything that could aid in deciphering the secrets of the Anomaly. Sith Algra has secured a Mandalorian hideout in an asteroid field. Unfortunately not much of their files have been recovered due to them being deleted.
Intelligence - Lead by Lord Rhozan

Primary course of action was to eradicate and secure a beachhead within these new sectors, ensuring that no counter-attack could be made apparent. Using the Cunning and Crisis I swept the local areas around the Ministry, once confirmed clear a territory line was established before I began to lead probing strikes deeper into this unknown Mandalorian territory.
Strike 1
Strike 1 involved a group of Sith engaging an armed Mandalorian freighter, housing over a dozen heavily equipped combatants. The squad was able to neutralise the ship and then board, resulting in the death of all enemy fighters along with securing the freighter itself. Such was handed over to the Ministry and the rest of the Expedition to piece apart its navlogs and engine to see if there was anything useful that came of that.
Strike 2
Strike 2 came from intelligence of a listening post labelled as 'QUARANTINE' broadcasting a distress signal. With the aid of Cunning, a Sith squad arrived at the derelict listening post. Such a thing could've been vital to our war effort in securing comms between enemy forces and even further locations, unfortunately it became clear the reason it was quarantined is because it had been hit by the Rakghoul Plague (or a variant of, this remains unclear). The squad rapidly made to exfil, taking a Mandalorian Shuttle out, and then I made the executive decision in the field to have the Cunning blow the station to smithereens, to ensure this plague did not spread. On return to the Ministry, the squad was met by a full decon team that made it absolutely certain none of them was carrying this pathogen.
Strike 3
This one is less of a strike, but fits the primary objective - A Mandalorian passenger vessel was spotted hopping through an asteroid field, likely sporting a hundred or so civilians. It had no armaments at all. Our forces went to engage at a distance, and eventually chased the vessel out of our territory. I believe this was the last presence of Mandalorian escapees in our beachhead.

“My primary focus has been on collating the gathered intelligence from the operations conducted by the Sith. This is what led to Lord Anairith and I plotting a course which discovered the new system. Additionally, a prototype of the strange machine discovered on the station has been constructed on Tobrade. Should the usefulness of the alien device become apparent, we will have our own version.” - Lord Rhozan
The Intelligence branch was tasked to find ways to traverse the anomaly with smaller ships. As it stands, it is not possible without the assistance of Lord Anairith and Sith Prime Shasha’nar. Upon investigating the collected information from the retrieved Mandalorian ships, as well as through Lord Rhozan's ingenuity, and Lord Anairith's boldness, we've managed to uncover a path towards a new system.

Expedition,
With Lord Caldras' permission, I'll share mine and Lord Rhôzan's findings from the experimental jump performed last week. After sifting through encrypted data left by the Mandalorians at the station, we've managed to plot a safe path into the next system - dubbed, for now, 'System S001'.
Though preliminary scans offer little, I will still present our findings thusly:
System S001 consists of five rings surrounding a yellow star. The second ring from the star is an asteroid belt, and four distinct planets can be identified.
The first, which we'll dub 'S001-01' is a volcanic terrestrial planet with cracked crust and with perilously close proximity to the sun. Unlikely to support life, based on atmospheric initial readings.
The second, which we'll dub 'S001-02' is a jungle planet with dense forestation that can be observed from space, on the third ring away from the sun. It rests in a comfortable zone that may indeed support vibrant life and be habitable from initial atmospheric readings.
The third, which we'll dub 'S001-03' on the fourth ring from the sun appears to be crag and rocky with suboptimal readings to sustain life, cold and thin in atmosphere.
The fourth, which we'll dub 'S001-04' on the fifth and outer ring from the sun, appears to be entirely covered in water. Initial readings suggest a rich atmosphere though there appear to be no considerable land mass on which vegetation or life can be supported. The water would have to be explored further. It has an orbiting moon, which likely affects its tides.
The asteroid belt is dense and would have to be explored further. There are several larger rocks that stand out.
Alongside this information, I'll forward the astrographic configurations and coordinates for safe passage into System S001.

“As part of the research team, our main task was to research The Anomaly. To do so we have launched several satellites around DTF-886 as well as before the Anomaly to discover patterns that might lead us to understand what was creating it. In addition, ship logs have been reviewed and verified for any similarity.” - Lord E. Caldras
Upon investigating the navcomputers of the ships that already have traversed it, we have discovered that the data was unreliable as even though most of the ships that came through the anomaly were the Empire's own, they all had in common that their thrusters and engines were pushed to their limit when passing by DTF if they passed by at all - some of them entirely bypassed and curved their hyperspace jumps around the planet to not enter its sphere. The methods that
The magnetic and gravitational situation on DTF was anomalous in and of itself with readings off the charts that seemed to shift depending on the time of day or day of the week, following in the shadow of DTF's moon. Electronics and sensors in DTF's atmosphere and on the planet had a habit of malfunctioning as if the magnetic and gravitational state of the planet and its moon interfered even with signals, light, plasma and so on - thus the strange "curved saber" phenomenon previously observed by the crashed party who ended up stranded there in the past, the anomaly interacting with the emitters and shields that contained the plasma blades and pulling in every which direction... again, depending on the position of the moon.
This also resulted in the satellites not surviving for long, as the moon's path around DTF inevitably crossed over the orbiting satellites and, once getting close enough, the interferences with the satellites' systems caused such malfunctions that the sensors went haywire and the moon's strange gravitational field seized and pulled the satellites into collision course. This was a fate shared by three of the satellites, pulled out of their orbiting trajectories and sent crashing into the surface of DTF or colliding with the moon itself. The fourth satellite has yet to be seized by the gravitational field but it has suffered interference by proximity a few times which has scrambled some of the sensor readings every time it passed too close.
Scans of DTF's surface by the satellites also reveals trails of wreckages in a belt around the planet, incidentally following roughly in the shadow of its moon with a few divergent pieces here and there of vessels or pieces of vessels that only managed to brace themselves enough to control their landing... a little, and thus sent them to the surface a distance away from the 'belt'.

The method used in traversing the Anomaly was not a precise science by any means, but knowledge of the anomaly's rough sphere of influence helped her and Shasha'nahr plot their path to curve at a safer distance around DTF and adjust their trajectory just enough in response to their senses 'flaring'. They can 'see' a path through hyperspace and sense their way forward in a way that computers cannot, as the computer systems of the ships can't predict the interference before getting close enough that the ships are potentially compromised if their timing is not optimal.
