Exogenus Brigade
The Snake Hunters

The Exogenous Brigade was formed upon Zula IV as a newly established assault formation intended to harness the growing alien population that now resides beneath the Dominion’s banner. Officially, the brigade exists to supplement the Dominion’s assault forces with large numbers of aggressive and expendable alien troops capable of sustaining high attrition operations that would otherwise place strain upon more politically valuable formations. Within military circles, however, few believe this is the brigade’s only purpose.

Known unofficially as “The Snake Hunters,” the Exogenous Brigade has become the subject of speculation throughout the Dominion and beyond. Many believe the formation was quietly established by Darth Véhemen as a counterweight to the influence of pureblood supremacist factions within the wider Sith Empire, particularly those aligned with the ideology and influence of the Patron. The brigade’s composition alone is viewed by some as a deliberate provocation, drawing together large numbers of Twi’lek, Togruta, Mirialan, Zabrak, and other alien species into a unified combat force openly loyal to the Dominion rather than the old hierarchies of the Empire.

Unlike many auxiliary formations found elsewhere within Imperial space, the Exogenous Brigade is not composed of poorly equipped conscripts or irregular militias. Despite its recent formation, the brigade has received substantial investment in equipment, logistics, and operational support. The formation combines large light infantry contingents with mobile assault elements, shuttle-borne assault infantry, fast reconnaissance cavalry, and supporting artillery assets, allowing it to conduct aggressive offensive operations across a wide variety of environments. Their doctrine emphasises mobility, aggression, and relentless pressure, favouring rapid assaults designed to overwhelm enemy resistance through momentum and attritional violence.

The brigade itself remains exceptionally young. Most of its rank and file have only recently completed accelerated training programmes conducted at the Collegium of Arms on Zula IV, with entire battalions having marched directly from academy grounds into active military service. As a result, the Exogenous Brigade lacks the battle honours, campaign traditions, and hardened battlefield experience carried by older Dominion formations. Many of its soldiers have yet to face true combat beyond training exercises and controlled operations.

To compensate for this inexperience, the Dominion deliberately constructed the brigade around a hardened professional core. A large number of veteran alien officers and non-commissioned officers were handpicked from existing Imperial and Dominion formations and transferred into the brigade during its creation. Many had previously served for years within the wider Imperial military, often fighting in formations where alien soldiers were undervalued, marginalised, or treated as expendable assets. These veterans now serve as the backbone of the brigade, responsible for instilling discipline, cohesion, and aggression into the newly raised recruits beneath them. Though the brigade itself is fresh, its leadership cadre is composed of experienced soldiers who have survived some of the Empire’s harshest campaigns.

At the centre of the brigade stands Colonel Amrae, a formidable Togruta officer whose rise through the ranks has been both rapid and controversial. Known for her uncompromising discipline and ferocious temperament, Amrae has cultivated a reputation for demanding absolute aggression and cohesion from her soldiers regardless of species or origin. Rumours surrounding the Colonel are widespread, particularly stories concerning her years serving within human-dominated Imperial formations where alien soldiers were frequently mistreated, marginalised, or used as expendable manpower. Whether true or exaggerated, such stories have only strengthened her standing amongst the brigade’s rank and file, many of whom view her not merely as a commander, but as proof that the Dominion offers opportunities denied elsewhere within the Empire.

Amongst the soldiers of the Exogenous Brigade, the brigade’s unofficial title of “Snake Hunters” has been embraced rather than suppressed. Serpents and coiling snakes, long associated with pureblood supremacy, are commonly depicted within the brigade’s iconography being crushed or strangled beneath an iron fist. The symbol serves both as a mark of unity and as a warning to those who would seek to undermine or belittle the Dominion’s alien populations. Beneath their adopted motto, “From Many, Wrath,” the brigade seeks to forge disparate peoples and cultures into a single weapon directed against the enemies of the Dominion.

Though still unproven on the battlefield, the Exogenous Brigade represents something increasingly important within Darth Véhemen’s growing powerbase: a military force whose loyalty is rooted not in bloodline or species, but in shared ambition, opportunity, and the promise of strength through unity beneath the Dominion’s rule.
