You are herby ordered to commence offensive operations against Republic forces within the Tryst Systems. Your objectives are as follows:

* To secure new borders for the Empire.
* To destroy any Republic navy assets operating in the region.
* To control the resources of the fertile world of Damolla.

Opening Moves

With Perfidious having finally received orders to launch its invasion of the Tryst Systems, Darth Véhemen has chosen to attack the desert world of Ixarum IV as his first move. Occupying a strategically important hyperspace lane between the Zula Region and the wider Tryst Systems, its conquest is key to further offensive operations against the Republic.

Unfortunately, whilst Perfidious have been preparing to invade the Republic, so to have the Republic been preparing to invade the Zula Region. The board is now set for a dramatic clash between Imperial and Republic forces on the dry, desert world of Ixarum IV.

Ixarum IV
Republic Held World

Of the four planets within the Ixarum System, only Ixarum IV is populated. A desert world, Ixarum IV is home to a small population of mostly humans, who immigrated to the planet following the discovery of several Terilian deposits. No further deposits were located to date, but the inhabitants soon found other more modest resources to eke out a living from.

More than two years ago, Perfidious launched a significant raid on the planet, levelling its Republic garrisons and severely damaging the planets only starport. Despite these setbacks, the rugged and individualistic people of Ixarum IV remained loyal to the Republic and soon restored order.

More recently, the planet has become a major staging ground for the Republic Army as they prepare to invade the Zula Region. Consequently, the planets defences have been bolstered and several large garrisons established across the populated northern deserts surrounding Sevrei.

First Battle of Ixarum IV

Following a build up of forces, Perfidious finally launched its attack against Republic forces in the Ixarum system. Fierce fighting followed, as Imperial and Republic fleets clashed over the remote desert world of Ixarum IV. Such was the intensity of the combat, even the Harrower-class Tyrant of Zula was boarded by Republic marines, engaging its Sith and Imperial defenders in bloody combat. Ultimately, two Republic and one Imperial capital ships were lost in the fighting, as well as hundreds of crewmen and pilots.

Despite the marginal victory enjoyed by the Imperial fleet, both sides were forced to withdraw and a stalemate now ensues over the planet. Neither the Empire nor the Republic hold dominance in the system for now, leaving the planet in contention.

Seeing a chance to land forces on the planet, the Dark Lord of Perfidious launched a bloody assault on Outpost Osk as he attempted to capture its important water resources for the Empire, allowing a bridgehead for further attacks on the Republic.

Brutal combat ensued, with the Empire suffering heavy losses to the well entrenched Republic forces equipped with formidable base defences. Ultimately, the Empire prevailed and captured Outpost Osk, leaving the ragged Republic survivors to flee into the mountains and wait for extraction.

Battle for Dorn

After spending several weeks trying to convince the Republic that Outpost Cresh was their true objective, Perfidious finally launched its attack on Outpost Dorn.

Whilst the 5th Tryst Infantry was moving tentatively towards Outpost Cresh under the command of Major Ajaxes, Major Tholstoy and Major Phanzur led the 3rd and 4th Tryst Infantry in an attack on Dorn, which was defended by the 85th Anaxes Infantry. Spearheading the Empire's attack were a force of Sith and Operatives led by the Dark Lord and Lord Commander, who assailed the surface and underground bunkers respectively.

With bitter combat raging across the base and surrounding desert between Imperial and Republic soldiers, a large contingent of Sith smashed their way through Republic lines, destroying turrets, tanks and walkers as they went. Although the Republic inflicted many casualties upon the attackers, in the end they were driven underground by the ferocity of the Sith onslaught.

It was during the violence of this first engagement that a Jedi revealed themselves to the Sith, assisting Republic forces in destroying a tower the Sith were stood upon and sending many of the Sith- including the Lord Arcanus - tumbling to the ground below. The Jedi subsequently escaped, but there can be no doubt that vengeful Sith will soon begin hunting down this servant of the Light Side.

The following day, the Sith entered the tight corridors of the underground bunkers where Republic forces were making a final stand. Fighting their way through several lines of defences whilst engaging powerful combat droids, the Sith and Operatives were able to crush the final defenders and rout the surviving elements of the 85th Anaxes Infantry back towards Republic lines.
