Can I roll an alt character?

As a rule, we would prefer that our players focus on one character to maximise that characters' participation in our communal story. That said, we do recognise that after playing a character a prolonged period, it's nice to be able to try something else. We also acknowledge that as a Lord, it can be difficult to be involved in all the roleplay, because there are things a Lord might not do which a Sith or Operative could.

The purpose of this table is to highlight what ranks you could roll as an alt and after what period of time in the guild it's appropriate to ask for one.

Main Character
Lord
Sith
Operative
Auxiliary /Assets
LordNoYes - 12 months.Yes - 6 months.Yes - 6 months.
SithNoNoYes - 6 months.Yes - 6 months.
OperativeNoNoNoYes - 6 months.

How active does my alt character need to be?

Characters should aim to log in and participate at least once a month. If your character does not participate in guild roleplay at least once a month, they might be removed.

Why can I not play a Sith alt as a main Operative?

We consider Sith progression to require more of a time investment than an Operative, as a Sith must always be making some form of forward progress to survive, so it would only make sense to accept a new Sith character as a main character.

You could apply to play a Sith and retain your Operative, but they would be considered an alt character. If it ultimately turned out you didn't enjoy playing a Sith and played your Operative more, we'd likely request you retire the Sith.

We would only consider this after at least six months.

How many alt characters can I play?

The longer you're in the guild, the more likely we are to consider another alt character.

I currently play a Sith, can I roll a Sith Lord?

You could ask, but the chances of us approving it is extremely low as Lord recruitment is closed.

Powerbase Auxiliaries (Recruitment Open)

Powerbase Auxiliaries are characters who serve Sith members of the powerbase and who are played as alt characters of existing members. They might be a personal doctor, a bodyguard, a slave or an accountant; the only limit is that is the character's concept is in keeping with the tone of the guild.

Unlike personal assets, who are regarded as true player characters, an Auxiliary is viewed more as a non-player character and is thus not protected by the same rules as a player character. This means that should an Auxiliary anger a Sith or Lord, they might be killed on a whim - although the player character who does so, may face consequences for their actions.

Similarly, an auxiliary is a character who should only be seen infrequently and where it makes sense. It wouldn't make sense for an accountant to hang around the Tyrant, although a visit now and then might be reasonable. Likewise, a ganger from Hutt Space should not be loitering within the base on Zula IV - they do not belong there.

The best way to think of an auxiliary is as a vehicle for a plot; a character who helps to flesh out your concept or who simply provides some light social roleplay when your own character is unavailable.

Auxiliary Rules
  1. Only an existing member of the guild may create an Auxiliary character.
  2. Presently, Auxiliaries must serve a Prime, Lord or Darth character - they may not serve Sith or Operatives.
  3. An Auxiliary may not participate in guild events and does not have a character dossier.
  4. Auxiliaries may be killed by other player characters without officer involvement or player permission.
  5. An auxiliary should only be an occasional visitor of the powerbase and only where it makes sense.
  6. An Auxiliary can be identified by their member note, which lists them as an Auxiliary.
To apply with an Auxiliary character, please find a character with a minimum rank of Sith Prime who is willing to have you create a character to serve them. Once you have done so, please submit an officer inbox ticket in the general character questions category outlining your character concept.

Personal Assets (Recruitment Closed)

In many ways, a personal asset is similar to an Auxiliary in that they may perform any role or function that might reasonably fit within the guild theme. They could be a servant, a pilot, an assassin or even a non-sensitive sibling. Whatever their role, they are bound in service to a player character within the powerbase.

Unlike an Auxiliary, a Personal Asset holds the same status as a true player character and thus enjoys protection from ad-hoc murder and may also participate in events. Although they should still not loiter in places that don't make sense (for example a social character being on Tyrant for extended periods) they will generally be assumed to be tolerable visitors to the powerbase.

Asset Rules
  1. Personal Assets may serve a character of any rank.
  2. Personal Assets should have a character dossier if they intend to participate in guild events.
  3. Personal Assets may not be killed without the players permission or officer approval.
  4. A Personal Asset can be identified by their member note which lists them as an Asset.
  5. Any existing personal assets (Chem, Aresand, Meimei or Rolando for example) will be grandfathered in as Personal Assets.
We are not accepting applications as Personal Assets at this time.
