The Journey South

The frozen mountains are finally behind you, but the journey south remains long, arduous, and far from safe. Your characters now begin the week-long trek towards their civilization, travelling through the unforgiving wilderness with limited supplies and no guarantee of what awaits them along the road.

This stage of the journey takes place off-screen. To represent the challenges faced during the week, each player must make two rolls on the incident table below, determining the hardships, setbacks, or noteworthy events their character experiences along the way. Results may only be re-rolled if you roll the same outcome twice.

Once you have made your rolls, add together your current Morale. If the final total is negative, your character loses one re-roll until the conclusion of Two Weeks in Paradise, reflecting the strain, exhaustion, and hardship of the journey.

Once complete, please post your rolls, results, and Morale total below.

(Note: The work to create sleds has lifted the positive values in the roll table. as it has mitigated some of the hardship in the journey south.)

You are swept downhill by a fast-moving avalanche, battered by ice and stone before finally coming to rest half-buried in the snow. The experience leaves you shaken and covered in bruises, but alive.

The Long NightRelentless winds descend from the peaks throughout the night. Sleep proves almost impossible as tents, cloaks, and shelters are battered without mercy. By morning, you are exhausted despite spending the entire night attempting to rest.

The Broken BootOne of your boots finally surrenders to the mountains. Stitching tears, the sole separates, or a fastening snaps entirely. The remainder of the journey becomes an exercise in improvisation as you battle frozen ground with increasingly inadequate footwear. You now require new footwear.

Lost to the StormA blizzard descends with little warning, reducing visibility to mere metres. When it finally passes, you discover you have become separated from your companions and must spend several tense and exhausting hours navigating the wilderness alone before finding them again.

The Endless ClimbA route that appears promising gradually turns into a nightmare. Hours are spent climbing towards a ridge that seems forever out of reach. Upon finally reaching the summit, you discover another ridge beyond it. Then another. Then another. You are left exhausted by endless climbing.

Lost EquipmentA pack, weapon, or important piece of equipment disappears beneath snow during the journey, and you are unable to recover it.

Discard one piece of equipment from your pre-defined equipment. If you failed to specify your equipment, you lose your primary weapon.

A Clear DayThe storms finally break. From a high ridge you are treated to a spectacular view of the southern valleys stretching towards civilisation. For the first time since the crash, escape from the frozen wastes and victory over Ceryndra feels obtainable.

Inspiring MemoriesAs you trudge through the endless snow, you are able to reflect on the many victories you have won and take succour from the knowledge that in the end, you always come out on top.

Dried TimberWhilst exploring near camp you discover a supply of timber in a small cave, perhaps left there by previous travellers. It's enough to burn for a full night, basking your entire camp in warmth and light.

WreckageOn your journey south you discover a downed shuttle, the wreckage strewn across the ice and snow. Amongst the ruins you find the corpses of Ninth Scar and their Sith commander, reminding you that the enemy is also taking losses.

More importantly, amongst the twisted metal you find a few rations of chocolate and can share with one other person (+10 Morale to the target person, state below who gets it).
